' A Century Hall fit for the 21st Century
Shurdington Social Centre is used for a wide range of village activities
from preschool to Tai Chi, dog training to Botanical Art classes. The
larger of our two halls was very cold and draughty but over the last few
months this has all changed, with roof and cavity wall insulation, double
glazing and under floor heating installed. The improvement is fantastic
and hall users also have the satisfaction of knowing that the hall is now
much more environmentally friendly. The work was made possible by an
£11,000 grant from the Gloucestershire Environmental Trust with landfill
tax contributions donated by Cory Environmental. The remainder of the
£28,000 cost was self funded with small contributions from the Hillview
development S106 and the Village Hall Trust Fund'
