| ONE WORLD ONE PROMISE Szczecin Scouts in Shurdington Friday 2 November 2007 - Ala's 18th B'day - Sto Lat Meeting with the Mayor of Cheltenham Councillor John Rawson Visit to St Gregory the Great school Barn Dance at our HQ |
| Friday after an English breakfast they were taken to Cheltenham for some shopping then met the Mayor Councillor John Rawson in the council chambers for a discussion and several questions were asked and interpreted. Their next stop was the Catholic School of St Gregory the Great where they were met by the Head teacher Mrs Sharon Aston, and taken on an educational tour by half a dozen young Polish children who attend the school. Next stop was Pittville pump room where they tasted the famous healing waters. Some liked it so much they filled their water bottles for the journey back. This was a very special day as their Scout Leader, Miss Alicja Lawniczak was celebrating her 18th birthday. A special meal was planned for them and we all had lunch at Frankie and Benny's in The Brewery. That evening also several guests were invited to join us for a Barn Dance at the Social Centre. This was their first experience of a barn dance and was a tremendous success. |
